Excise The Gums

I thought the word excise was usually found together with taxes… but tonight it was part of my crown preparations at the dentist. Something about drilling a recess into my gum line so that the crown edge will be hidden. I didn’t see any of the work being done. Most dentists here put a cloth over your face, ostensibly for your protection but I think to hide from view all the medieval looking gadgetry common to the trade.

The beginning of my day went well. Another successful lesson with the girlz. Today was Halloween. We made paper bag bats. Tomorrow we’re making illustrated short story books. Both girls are eager to learn… and play. I suppose that’s a good thing given it makes them relaxed and more apt to use English in class. Mom is happy which is the important part. Mom pays the bills. Tomorrow afternoon and evening I have back-to-back classes. Long day. Very long day. But I’m hoping for a brief respite after lunch to recoup my energy and prepare.

On the wedding front, my mom’s friend is scoping out possible religious figures to lead the ceremony. I had struck out with the Catholics and Protestants. Hopefully she ca find someone to conduct the wedding. I joked that I’d even accept the captain of a boat!
