Body Language

This morning I continued the lesson from last week about “Acting for Confidence.” We had completed the Voice Workshop so today was the silent Body Workshop. Its always a fun lesson and really makes the students focus on body language. It also helps when we finish and combine both skill sets and apply it to the play script. They can use intonation to stress important words in their dialog and use their movements to make a convincing performance. Of course with only an hour’s practice the results were a bit bland. But I’m sure with more time they could really make a good show.

It was another afternoon free, so Nan and I headed to the Paragon to watch a movie. Picked up a bunch of books at Kino before heading to the theater. Should provide enough reading to last me the next couple months! Upstairs the cinema was packed due to some K-Pop event being held in the exhibition area next to the theaters. A bunch of Thai teens dancing and lip-sinking to songs they don’t understand. Go figure. We wanted to see Inception but every time was booked. So we switched to Despicable Me which was entertaining and a light way to spend a few hours. Afterward we did some grocery shopping. I finally picked up some more rice and made use of my mini cooker this evening. Cooked to perfection and healthy to boot!

I’m very much looking forward to not waking up tomorrow morning because of an alarm. When you only have one day off the rest of the week seems to last forever. But, this weekend with the afternoons free has been like a micro vacation. Kinda.
