Bye Bye 17-Hours

Today started off poorly. I remembered the date for my OST meeting was changed to tomorrow, Wednesday, only after I went to the office early this morning and saw it closed. WTF. I woke up extra early and everything! What a waste of time and money. And to continue my stupidity, I prepared for my Packaging Design class when I got back to the office only to realize the class meets on, you guessed it, Wednesday. It sunk in after I walked in on another teacher and made the false assumption that they had changed my room without telling me. Oye. On a good note though, I met up with a friend for lunch and pick up the Holedu surveys she had collected. Almost fifty! Oh ho! I was expecting only five or six. An friend in need is a friend indeed.
In the afternoon I looked for a plane ticket home. After talking with several friends and hearing the exorbitant prices for airfare I thought it best to reserve a seat as soon as possible. Only one problem, Thai Air doesn’t fly direct to NYC anymore! In fact, they don’t fly to New York period. WTF. Oye. I’m back to a 24-hour plus trip. So I looked into alternatives like United Arab Emirates, JAL, ANA, and Cathay Pacific. I refuse to fly any American airline solely based on the poor service. I would like to find a Star Alliance member so I can use the mileage I’ve earned on TG. Luckily, ANA is part of that group AND I have enough points to get a free upgrade to business class! I’m seriously thinking of cashing them in. The economy seats are so tiny and I’m flying just about as far as you can. I need to reserve soon though. The tickets are expensive already and will only increase over time.
Tonight I go to the Landmark Forum courtesy of my cousin. Since it will finish late I will detail my experience in tomorrow’s entry. I hold no illusions that I will even remotely enjoy it.
