High Strength Adhesive
After many failed attempts to recreate part of the bamboo exhibition that was held at the TCDC, I think I’ve finally got it. I used concrete blocks sandwiched in between mdf as the base. Onto these I used Nail Power Adhesive to fasten one inch diameter pipe joiners to the tops. Once the glue has cured, 12-24 hours, I’ll stick the cardboard dowels over the pipe posts. My only concern is that the pipe posts have very little surface area in contact with the glue and mdf. Given the length of the cardboard dowels there may be too much stress at the connection. Perhaps if I fill the hollow portion of the pipe joiner with an epoxy or other plastic-specific compound then I’ll get a better seal… hmmm.
I would take a human life for a Samsung 55″ 9000 Series LCD TV.
The overcast skies finally dropped their load this afternoon for a nice cooling effect. They also guaranteed a commute home that will take twice as long. Always nice to have something to look forward to at the end of the day. Tomorrow I have my second of four visits to the dentist. The first resulted in a filling sans Novocaine. I despise the needle. My second visit was for a root canal! Yeah! Against all odds though, the injection was practically undetectable! The orthodontist must have done some Jedi mind $hit because the whole needle/drilling experience was painless. I’ve had paper cuts that felt worse. Tomorrow is for cleaning and yet another filling. The last trip, I hope, is to have a cap put on the tooth I just got the root canal on. Maybe I should just have all my teeth removed and replaced with steel fangs.
Cool exercise for improving English speaking and listening skills: Jigsaw Listening. Will be integrating this activity into a course at my school for sure.
