3 Country Tour
Today I’ve been in three different countries: Thailand, Japan, and now the USA. The flight home is always long and never fun. But as trips go this one wasn’t too bad. I managed to sleep most of the way to Japan though I was woken up for “breakfast” at 4am. Thanks. At least I had the row all to myself. When we arrived in Japan I was surprised how cold it was. I had four hours to kill in Narita which was fine. All the duty free shops were open so I walked around. I even grabbed a ten dollar bowl of soup. Got to love the cost of food at airports.
The connecting flight to NYC wasn’t full. But I lucked out in sitting next to a mom and her baby. Where was dad? Sitting in business class. Classic. I think he made an appearance twice during the trip so that mom could eat. Ah, the bond between husband and wife. There were two more babies in my row on my right. Amazingly, all three were very well behaved. No crying, for the most part, and quite cute. The one in my section got a kick out of my dean impression. Small eyes and big smile. I watched three movies, played some video games, and tried sleeping. The food was good. Never disappointed on asian airlines.
We arrived in NYC on time. The sky was perfectly clear and blue. As a bonus the temperature wasn’t that chilly. So much for winter. I’m sure things will drop over my stay. I just hope it doesn’t rain and then freeze. The two-hour drive home wasn’t the best. The fatigue from the flights was taxing and a headache and sore eyes lasted the rest of the day. At home I had some lunch and relaxed for the afternoon.
I found out that my mom and step dad gave my TV away. GAVE IT AWAY! My huge screen TV… *sigh* As a replacement is my real dad’s what he abandoned when he came back to Thailand. My parents have digital cable but were using analog cables to hok the cable box to the TV. I showed them the difference with using component cables. Not the picture is crisp, bright, and a thousand times better. I also discovered an orphaned wireless-g router. Great! I upgraded the older b-mode model and voila! Much better coverage inthe house. I also checked out my Cobalt Qube 3 I ordered a few months ago. Sweeeeeeeet. I can’t wait to really test it out later. Lastly I did my usual computer maintenance. Mom and dad don’t do much in terms of updates or cleaning. Needless to say, the computer is running much smoother now.
Its been an extremely full day. I had a short nap in the afternoon but tried to stay up late so that I can sleep tonight. Its good to be home. This week should be fairly busy with all manner of tasks. Beats being bored though!
